Mortgage lenders and insurers often request a survey and report when trees are present on, or adjacent to a property.
Carried out on behalf of home-buyers or home-owners, the purpose is to assess the risk trees and other vegetation may represent to the building. It also indicates where trees may require management for other reasons.
The survey considers soil type, property age, tree species, age and condition and distance from the property. It is preliminary in nature and may identify factors which require more in-depth investigation. This approach is generally cost effective as it ensures that the purchaser or owner is providing their lender or insurer with the correct information, thereby avoiding spending where it is unnecessary.
Mature trees often compliment and add value to a property, but often, misplaced concern can cause unnecessary tree removal or other tree works. We can ensure that only necessary works are undertaken.
Due to the short turnaround usually required for these surveys, pre-payment is required.
